Easy Moving Calgary is a boutique moving company operating out of Calgary, Alberta. Specializing in both residential and commercial relocations locally, provincially, and nationally, the company prides itself on exceptional service quality, a fleet of modern, well-kept trucks, and a seasoned team capable of managing moves of any scale.
Objectives
The primary goal was to boost organic website traffic by targeting key search queries, ultimately securing top-ranking positions in Calgary and Airdrie organic search results.
Initial Challenges
At the start of the project, several issues were evident: The website consisted solely of a homepage with no dedicated service pages to inform potential customers. It lacked adherence to technical SEO best practices. No analytics platform was integrated. There were no external backlinks. The Business Profile was riddled with significant optimization errors.
Project Phases
To address these challenges, our strategy was segmented into three phases:
Phase 1: Structural Enhancements and Content Foundation

Phase 3: Expansion and Local Targeting
Launched a “Local Moving” section featuring pages tailored to individual cities in Alberta, designed to capture low-frequency local search queries. Developed a “Move From/To” section that offers detailed information for users planning relocations between specific locations (e.g., Calgary to Vancouver), tapping into the profitable long-distance market. Continued external link building. Optimized the Business Profile for better visibility.
Competitive Landscape and Strategy Adjustments
The project faced strong competition, with top-ranking websites already optimized for keywords such as “moving company,” “Calgary movers,” and “local movers,” alongside dominant directory sites occupying the top spots. To overcome this, our team initially focused on lower-volume search terms—optimizing the homepage for “affordable movers Calgary”—which quickly attracted the first visitors. Once we achieved a number one ranking for that term, we shifted our focus to the higher-volume keyword “Calgary movers” to drive even more traffic.
Results:
Organic Traffic: Increased by over 65.9%
Organic Keywords: Expanded by more than 1,066%
Top-10 Organic Keywords: Grew by over 1,100%
Top-3 Organic Keywords: Improved by over 100%
